Blog-buster Premiere

As a part of my effort to clean out my car, I recently entertained the thought of removing the only card box in my trunk.  I wasn't sure what's in there, but I knew I never needed anything from it.   "Why don't I take these away so my trunk will be clean and EMPTY when I opened it?"  I tried  to convince myself to do whatever it takes to turn my car into showroom quality.   Yet, after entertaining with this thought, I didn't take any action.  Boy, am I glad I didn't...

I was at the Fair Lake Shopping Center yesterday morning.  Things went as usual until I was trying to drive home.  The car wouldn't start!!!  I tried it again and again, but it became very clear very soon that my battery was dead...  So now, I need a jumper cable.  And then it hit my mind that I had a jumper cable in THAT mysterious card box in my trunk.  I went look for it and indeed, it was right there!!!  Before I could thank God for it, a by-passing mother asked if I needed a jump.  I was able to get home as a result.

After I got home, I started to feel guilty toward the jumper cable.  I almost took her out of play because she's not pretty or useful for me at the time.  I felt I was betraying her in a sense.  But at the same time, I was happy for my jumper cable.  She finally had her defining moment in her life...

Moses was flocking sheeps in the wilderness for 40 years before meeting the burning bush.  David fought lions and bears on numerous occasions before he met Goliath. Elisha worked in the farm for such a long time before one day he met Elijah.  Often, God asks His children to do really mundane and tedious tasks for a long period of time before He sends out the invitation to do what they are created to do.  I can't imagine how many times these Bible heroes wonder in the middle of the night why they were where they were.  Wouldn't Moses, the one formerly known as prince (of Egypt), wonder why he would be watching sheeps in the middle of nowhere?  Wouldn't David wonder why God ask him to be a shepherd while the throne was already promised?  And I wonder if my jumper cable ever pondered when she'll finally got out of the box.  For four and a half years, she was waiting for her moment.  But starting yesterday, she needs not to wonder anymore.  She got her call of her life.
